Krystyna Pyszková from the Czech Republic won the Miss World title at a fancy competition held in India on Saturday night.
Yasmina Zaytoun from Lebanon came in second place in the competition, which had 112 contestants, held in Mumbai, India’s financial and entertainment hub.
“Winning Miss World is like a dream come true for me. I feel incredibly honored to represent my country and to promote the values of ‘beauty with a purpose’ worldwide,” said Ms. Pyszkova.
After the current Miss World, Karoline Bielawska from Poland, handed over the crown to her, Ms. Pyszková waved to the big crowd at the Jio World Convention Center and gave hugs to some of the other contestants.
The event displayed India’s diverse culture, traditions, arts, crafts, and textiles to a huge global audience. Contestants wore beautifully embroidered skirts and blouses and danced to famous Bollywood songs.
This beauty contest came back to India after 28 years.
The 71st Miss World beauty pageant was hosted by Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar and Miss World 2013 Megan Young from the Philippines.
