A beauty influencer named Farah El Kadhi, aged 36, passed away on a yacht in Malta, where it was initially believed she suffered a heart attack. She was found unconscious on the boat and was rushed to the hospital in the town of Msida.
The social media star from Tunisia had been sharing photos of herself on the yacht before she passed away while it was parked in the marina.
Local media reports suggest she didn’t appear to be injured and had been in the country for a week-long vacation before her death on Monday.
Another influencer named Soulayma Hneynia, who lives in Malta, contacted the police when she couldn’t reach Farah.
She described Farah as a “truly wonderful person” known for her kindness, generosity, and warmth. Soulayma added, “Her positive spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.”
Authorities will conduct an autopsy and investigation to determine the exact cause of her death.
Farah used to work as an architect for Key Concept and was one of the most well-known people in Tunisia.
More than a million people follow her on Instagram, where she used her platform to promote her fashion brand, Bazarbyfaf.
A builder and decorator named Taher Toumi paid tribute to her on Instagram, saying, “It’s true I only knew you through Instagram, but the pain has been profound since you passed away!”
“You radiated energy that was full of life and joy! You lived well and showed love to everyone, even those who didn’t know you!”
“For the past two days, we’ve been looking at your photos, your videos, and we’re feeling a deep sense of sadness.”
“Nothing will be the same without her,” said one of her fans.
Others who had met the Instagram star also shared their memories of her.
They said, “I met her once on the plane, she was very friendly. I jokingly commented that she seemed small, but in her videos, she looked tall.”
Her final Instagram post was from Spilia in Mykonos. It showed her on a Greek beach wearing a bright pink kimono.
