As a woman was taking her child to school, she found something shocking. Someone had thrown away a one-eyed cat in the trash. The cat, named Artex, was in a lot of pain when rescuers found him. They think someone hurt him badly, causing his eye to burst, and then left him without getting help. It’s really sad because instead of helping him, his owner threw him out like garbage.
The charity quickly took Artex to the vet. The vet gave him medicine, antibiotics, and other emergency treatment. After some time, Artex started feeling better. Since he hadn’t been taken care of properly before, they also treated him for fleas and worms.
“In the near future, Artex will need surgery on his eye socket to clean and stitch it up,” rescuers explained on a fundraising page. They were seeking money to cover Artex’s growing medical bills. As of now, Bredhurst Cat Protection had raised almost US$3,000.
Artex is really scared after everything he’s been through. It’s extra sad because he probably got hurt and left behind by someone he cared about and trusted. Now, he’s afraid of people. He doesn’t realize that the people trying to help him, like his foster parent, want to make him feel better after all the bad stuff he went through.
Right now, Artex is really afraid of being near people and doesn’t like being touched much. The rescuers mentioned they’re still not sure who could have hurt him so badly.
“We’re not sure how Artex got hurt or why he was left alone, but Cats Protection is making sure he gets the care he needs for a full recovery. It’ll take a lot of time and money, likely over £700. Any donations to help Artex would be really appreciated.”
You can donate here to help Artex keep getting better. If we raise more than we need for Artex, the extra money will go to Bredhurst Cat Protection to help other cats in need.
