A kitten was adopted by a family. Sadly, he lost his ability to see. But he found solace by cuddling up to the family cat.

Cats that live on the streets have a tough time taking care of themselves, and it’s even harder for little kittens. But think about how much tougher it is when they’re tiny!

There was this little ginger kitten rescued from the streets. Even though he had health problems, he didn’t let that stop him from making the most of his new, happy life.

The kitten, who was later named Stevie, was taken to an animal shelter. He wasn’t doing well at all – he was weak, very hungry, and his eyes were infected.

Luckily, Stevie ended up at SpokAnimal in Washington, where they took really good care of him. Jamie Myers, who works there, said:

“The people at our shelter (SpokAnimal) saw that Stevie’s life was worth saving. They did an operation to take out both of his eyes to help him stay alive. Then they asked me if I could take care of him for a while.”

When Stevie lost his eyes, it meant he wouldn’t be able to see, but it also meant he wouldn’t feel any more pain. The important thing is that Jamie didn’t think twice about bringing him into her home.

Right from the start, Jamie was fully committed. She fed Stevie with a syringe until he could eat by himself, and she took care of him all day and night to make sure he felt safe and comfortable.

Stevie got better really quickly. He got stronger, started eating by himself, and began to check out his new surroundings. He was a playful little guy, especially when he found his favorite toys.

Even though Stevie couldn’t see, he was full of energy and happiness. He loved playing with the other foster cats.

But there was one cat, Waffles, who Stevie really liked. There was something about Waffles that Stevie really enjoyed. And Waffles was really nice to Stevie, which led to a wonderful friendship between them.

Stevie became like Waffles’ loyal sidekick, always sticking close to him, copying what he did, and picking up on how to be a cat from him. Waffles was really patient and caring, teaching Stevie important things like how to get around the furniture and climb stairs.

Waffles is a sweet and gentle cat who took Stevie under his wing, teaching him all the important cat stuff and forming a special bond with him.

But Stevie was actually a fantastic kitten who brought so much happiness and energy into Jamie’s foster home. She said:

“As soon as I saw him, I knew he was meant to be a part of our family forever.”

Stevie’s story shows how strong and hopeful animals can be, and how everyone deserves another shot at happiness. Even though Stevie had a tough beginning, he ended up in a caring home with a human friend and a special cat buddy, Waffles. His journey is a touching reminder that patience pays off and good things eventually come our way.
