Meet Scooter. He’s a little kitten who doesn’t have a home. He was born in Elkhart, Indiana. Unfortunately, Scooter’s front paws are not like other kittens’ paws. They’re not shaped right, so it’s really hard for him to walk and move around.
But that didn’t stop him from searching for the right person who would love him. He roamed around on his own, hoping to find a forever home. Then, one day, he wandered into a woman’s yard. As soon as she saw him, she knew she wanted to bring him inside and take care of him.
The lady quickly saw that Scooter needed more help than she could provide. So, she reached out to the rescue team at Here Kitty Kitty Rescue. She wanted to give him a chance to have a better life. They were surprised that Scooter had been able to survive on his own for five weeks. But this showed that he had a strong will to keep going.
Even though Scooter’s front paws were not like other kittens’ paws, and he had a really bad eye infection, he still purred a lot whenever someone cuddled him. He enjoyed playing with all the new toys he had, and he found out that he really liked being around people.
Scooter went to see the vet. The vet checked him by doing some blood tests and taking pictures of his insides with x-rays. Scooter was so friendly that he even played with the people who worked there while the vet checked him. Besides his eye infection, they found out that he also had a respiratory infection. But the good news is, these problems can be fixed with the right medicine.
They figured out that Scooter’s front feet had muscles or ligaments that were shorter or tighter than usual. This was making his feet point inwards. The best thing to do was to start physical therapy on both of his legs. This meant stretching and moving his feet to help them get used to being in the right position.
When Scooter was seven weeks old, he only weighed one pound, which is really small for a kitten his age. But he was doing great and enjoyed being with his foster family. He loved cuddling with his foster brothers and sisters. They were always there to keep him company, so he never felt lonely.
Once Scooter was feeling a lot better, he was ready to find a permanent home. A couple who already had two cats decided that Scooter would be a great addition to their family. This cute kitten, who had a tough beginning, was now exactly where he wanted to be – happy and loved.
