Al Roker, the weatherman from Today, is sharing news about his health almost a year after facing some serious health problems. At 69 years old, he told Entertainment Tonight that he’s been “doing great,” and he credits a lot of his recovery to his new granddaughter.
“I’m doing really well,” he said on Tuesday. “The main thing that has helped me is the arrival of my new granddaughter.” The new grandfather shared that his granddaughter Sky is one of the best things that has ever happened to him.
“You can enjoy spending time with them and then return them when you’re done. I would have gotten grandchildren sooner if I’d known how fun they are. This is really amazing.”
Roker recently spent the weekend taking care of his three-month-old granddaughter. Even though he admitted he forgot how challenging it can be to look after a baby alone, they still had a great time together. The happy grandfather shared a bunch of photos of his granddaughter enjoying different outings during what he called “the perfect weekend.”
Next to a photo of baby bottles drying on his kitchen counter, he wrote, “It’s been a while since I’ve had this setup in the kitchen.” He added, “I’m glad to see I can still handle this task. It’s like riding a bike, but I get to give the bike back when I’m done,” he joked.
We’re very happy to hear that Al Roker is doing so much better, and we agree that a big part of his improvement is the new baby in his family.
