At 93, Barbara Eden from I Dream of Jeannie shows that age doesn’t have to slow you down. She keeps her trim figure by staying active. In an interview with Fox News posted on September 14, Eden talked about how exercise helps her look and feel young, and she has adjusted her routine as she’s gotten older.

Barbara Eden said she used to do spinning classes and lift weights with a trainer. But when COVID hit, she had to stop those intense workouts. Now, she uses a stationary bike and lifts five-pound weights. Even though they’re light, she says they’re great for her bones.

Barbara Eden says she misses spinning classes because of the camaraderie and motivation they provided (she admits she’s not great at starting workouts on her own). She encourages people to try different activities to find what works best for them.

She mentioned trying aerobics when it was popular but found it wasn’t for her. However, she loves walking, which she finds better than running because it’s easier on her knees and ankles.

Barbara also takes a balanced approach to her diet, allowing herself to enjoy her favorite foods in moderation.

Barbara Eden shared that she loves Italian and German food, especially schnitzel with lemon. Growing up in San Francisco, she enjoyed great Italian and Chinese food.

She also admitted she has a sweet tooth. She likes key lime pie, angel food cake with lemon icing, and chocolates. She says she loves anything sweet and would be thrilled to receive sweets as a gift.

Barbara Eden says her balanced approach to diet and fitness comes from her upbringing. She credits her parents for teaching her good habits.

Barbara Eden feels lucky to have had parents who focused on healthy eating and living. She said her mother always preached “moderation of all things,” and that’s the approach she follows too.

Barbara Eden has always had a positive outlook on life. She doesn’t focus on slowing down and prefers to just keep moving forward. She believes that if you don’t try new things, you won’t get anywhere. She emphasizes staying busy and productive because it’s important to her.
