It’s disheartening when a dog’s family abandons them. Families may neglect to care for sick or elderly dogs, unaware of the suffering inflicted upon the dog when left abandoned.
Ray, an 8-year-old Labrador Retriever abandoned by his family, was found wandering alone on the streets of Torrance, California. His eyes bore the weight of sadness, his once sturdy physique reduced to skeletal thinness, and patches of his coat-fur vanished due to starvation.
Carson Shelter staff in California rescued Ray. While his health improved with the care of shelter volunteers, Ray remained despondent. Despite the efforts, he was eventually put up for adoption, as the preference for adopting elderly dogs seemed relatively limited.
Update: Ray has now found a new home! Surprisingly, Ray’s sentiments towards humans haven’t changed. He continues to respond to every human with love. Watching the video of him being so sad and despondent tugged at our hearts. We hope Ray’s spirits swiftly recover, and he continues to be showered with love and care.
