Dax Shepard cleared up rumors that he and his wife, Kristen Bell, are swingers. He mentioned on “The Drew Barrymore Show” that there was a tabloid story claiming they hosted swinger parties.
Dax, 49, joked that he enjoyed getting text messages from other celebrities about these rumors.
Dax Shepard laughed as he talked about receiving texts from friends asking why they weren’t invited to the supposed swinger party. He said they were joking because everyone knows he and Kristen Bell aren’t actually hosting such parties.
He also chuckled about a funny message from Jimmy Kimmel, who texted saying he was “hurt” that he and his wife weren’t invited.
Drew Barrymore then asked Dax if he and Kristen have any couples they “fantasize” about.
Dax Shepard said that while there are many attractive couples, he and Kristen Bell haven’t explored that idea with anyone. However, he did mention that they really admire Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen as a couple.
He explained that they find Ted and Mary’s relationship so charming that they just wish they could be a part of it.
Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell, who have been married since 2013 and have two daughters, have talked before about the swinger rumors. They think it might have started because they joke about having guests stay over after parties.
Kristen mentioned on “Armchair Expert” that they sometimes playfully tell guests to leave their keys behind as a joke. Dax admitted that his sense of humor might have added to the confusion, as he has jokingly invited podcast guests to swing if they’re in LA.
