‘I Go Meow!’ Orange Cat Behavior On Full Display with This Ultra-Talkative Kitty

Some cats are just extra “special”, and, they’re often ginger tabbies. There’s a reason for the hashtag: ‘orange cat behavior’. So if a cat like Marmalade has ever owned you, then you know these cats are meowgical! Here’s the story of a less common ginger tabby girl named Cala. She’s no wallflower and always has plenty to talk about in Chicago!

Cala may look like a kitten, but she’s fully grown, an adult “wittle baby.” But there’s nothing small about her voice! She loves to meow and make silly vocalizations for anybody who will listen.

Her playful nature is a constant source of entertainment and amusement for her mom, Elizabeth, and thousands of fans on social media.

Here’s a hilarious example of Cala essentially going off for no apparent reason. And rather than your typical meow, she’s making the most unusual sounds. Is she using whole sentences?! Probably. But unfortunately, we can’t translate what she’s telling us. And neither can Elizabeth.

“Someone tell me what she’s saying 😭,” Elizabeth said of the kitty’s “gargly meows.”

Interestingly, Cala’s vocalizations often happen when she’s just captured her toys. So, one theory is it might be her way of proudly announcing she’s made a ‘kill.’ And she will not be ignored.

Sure, most cats will make funny sounds, but with Cala, it happens all the time and has for years. After talking to the veterinarian, Elizabeth says the kitty is just a healthy, playful girl and adorably weird. #orangecatbehavior

“She really likes to play. She’s a little bit of a weirdo. I think that’s why she resonates with people so much,” Elizabeth said. “She’s just having fun when she makes all those meowing noises,” she continued.

Sometimes, Cala announces her victory after catching her mouse-like toy. The kitty will lift her head triumphantly and meow for an empty room. When Elizabeth hears her, she’ll sometimes reinforce the behavior with “Cala! Good job, you caught your mouse!”

Afterward, Cala comes running to Mom, and the proud meows continue. Good girl, Cala! We’re proud of you.

Although it seems Cala’s vocalizing is related to her hunting prowess, it can also be inexplicable. For example, here she is proudly meowing in a box for no apparent reason. Elizabeth says it’s always related to playtime. Other times, she’s “mostly quiet,” believe it or not!

If you listen carefully, it’s as if she’s beginning to put together syllables again. Whatever she’s saying, she’s saying it for her mama! Did you know cats rarely meow for each other? When they meow, they almost always do it for humans.

Clearly, there’s something very important Cala wants to tell us about this box. What do you think she’s saying? Whatever it is, we love her silly antics.

According to a translation by The Kiffness, who makes music with animals, Cala is actually singing the song of her people called “I Go Meow!” It’s as good a guess as any and it looks like this cat’s musical career is taking off!
