Nowadays, many folks meet their special someone using dating apps, but not too long ago, you had to go out and meet people in person to find your perfect match.
Even famous people had to put in the effort to find love.
Take Maureen McCormick, who is 67. She saw her future husband for the first time at a concert but won his heart at church.
Maureen McCormick is best known for playing Marcia on The Brady Bunch from 1969 to 1974. After the sitcom ended, McCormick, who was born on August 5, 1956, appeared in several Brady Bunch spin-offs.
After “The Brady Bunch” ended, Maureen McCormick had a tough time in her personal life, even though she was famous from the show. She struggled with drug addiction, felt really down at times, and battled bulimia, which hurt her reputation as an actress.
“I’ve been through a lot of tough times, but I learn and grow from them,” she said in 2016.
She went to a psychiatric hospital, went in and out of rehab, and prayed for help from God.
As Maureen McCormick, who used to act as a child, was struggling with addiction to cocaine and feeling disappointed that her acting career wasn’t going as she wanted, she met a man at a concert who she knew would be her husband.
“I turned around and saw this guy behind me,” she wrote in her autobiography, “Here’s the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice.”
“I had never seen him before. He had dark hair, a strong body, and handsome features. I looked right into his eyes and thought, ‘This is the man I’m going to marry.'”

McCormick started going to the same Bible studies as Cummings and made sure to sit close to him at church. She was really interested in getting to know him better.
And it paid off! After spending more time together, they went on their first date, and the rest is history.
“She was always honest with me right from the start. She’s always been open with me, like an open book. I never worried about her going back to her old ways because I knew that whatever happened, we’d deal with it together,” Cummings said in an interview with Daily Mail in 2015.
Even though McCormick said their relationship was fast and intense, it wasn’t always easy.
She kept struggling with her drug addiction and staying sober, and because of that, she often pushed Cummings away. But he stayed by her side.
“Michael told me he made a commitment for life and he was going to stick with it, no matter what,” she wrote in her autobiography in 2008. “He thought being a child star had stopped me from growing up, and in a lot of ways, he was right.”
Even with all the good times and bad, the couple, who had a child in 1989, will mark their 37th wedding anniversary on March 16.
“I know one big reason Michael and I stayed together through all the tough times: our faith,” McCormick wrote. “We believed that despite everything, our love was real, strong, lasting, and worth holding onto. Our faith helped us believe in our love.”
