John Ritter was a famous actor. He had a son named Jason who also became an actor, following in his dad’s footsteps. Jason and his actress wife have a happy marriage, and he always supports her in a very loving way.
John Ritter was really successful in Hollywood, and he left behind a big legacy that inspired his family. He became famous for being in shows like “Three’s Company,” movies like “Skin Deep,” and the “Problem Child” series.
He wasn’t just famous; he was also a family guy. He cared a lot about his loved ones. He got married to actress Nancy Morgan in 1977, and they had three kids together: Jason, Carly, and Tyler.
John and Morgan were married for almost twenty years. Even though they eventually split up, they were thankful for the wonderful family they had made.

Jason became famous when he was young, appearing in the opening credits of “Three’s Company.” After that, he was in over 100 different movies and TV shows.
When John was acting in the movie “Hero at Large,” his wife Morgan had a baby named Jason in 1980. John thought it would be cute to have a small version of his costume made for their newborn. The director of the movie, Marty Davidson, said, “My wife, Sandy, was costume designer on it… [She] made a tiny little Captain Avenger suit — a small version of what John wore in the movie.”
When John went on Johnny Carson’s “The Tonight Show,” he showed off the matching costume and thanked Sandy on TV. Davidson said, “It was one of the happiest nights of my wife’s life.”
John and Morgan had a lot of happy years together as a family, but they got divorced in 1996. Three years later, John got married again, this time to actress Amy Yasbeck.
Amy had one child with John, Stella Ritter. Stella later transitioned to being a man and changed his name to Noah Lee. The whole family, including the kids from John’s first marriage, enjoyed spending time together.
John was a really good dad, and his family meant a lot to him. But he had some serious health problems because of a heart condition that nobody knew about.
While he was working on a new TV show, he started feeling really sick. Sadly, he died in 2003 because of these health problems. He was only 54, and his death was a big shock to everyone who knew him. It made his family and friends really sad.
John’s children still remember and celebrate their dad’s memory. Jason, especially, has been in a lot of important roles that would have made his dad proud.
He was in shows like “Parenthood,” “Joan of Arcadia,” and “Raising Dion,” which are just some of the great things he’s done. Even though his dad isn’t around anymore, Jason keeps acting. And it’s hard not to notice how much he looks like his dad.
Jason fell in love with actress Melanie Lynskey, and things moved fast for them. They acted together in a movie called “We’ll Never Have Paris” in 2014 and got engaged in 2017.
They were really happy to tell everyone about their daughter being born at the end of 2018, and they got married in 2020. Jason and Lynskey often share sweet messages about each other on the internet. In 2021, Lynskey couldn’t stop talking about Jason, showing how much she loves him.

Jason has always been a private person, even though his family is famous. When he proposed to Lynskey, he did it in a simple way, just sitting on the sofa. Lynskey thought it was adorable.
Even when they got married, they kept things simple. They had their wedding on the porch of their rented home in Atlanta.
They really loved their daughter, but they kept most things about her private. However, Jason did talk about one thing a lot—how he likes to parent.
The dad had a really important goal: to make sure his daughter knew she was loved. He said it was something his own dad taught him and his brothers and sisters. Jason said, “[My dad] always made sure we knew we were loved… You can pass all kinds of stuff onto your kids, but the feeling of being loved, no matter what, is really important.”
Jason also shared a story about when he was a kid. He used to play with his dad’s Emmy award and accidentally broke part of it. He felt really bad about it, but his dad wasn’t too mad.
Besides being a great dad to his daughter, Jason is also a wonderful husband to his wife. In 2022, he stood up for Lynskey when people were saying mean things about her body online.
The actress spoke out against people who were mean about her weight. She explained that people didn’t know about all the effort she was putting in to stay healthy. She said, “Being skinny doesn’t always mean you’re healthy.”
Her husband also joined in and spoke up against the online bullies who thought they could say whatever they wanted about other people, including his wife. He said, “If anyone else wants to make rude comments about anyone else’s body, they can write those comments on their own foreheads in permanent ink…”
Jason wanted everyone to remember how amazing his wife, Lynskey, is. He wrote a post online praising her and called her the best person he knows. He said, “I’m sorry for doing this, and she’ll be embarrassed, but…” Then he couldn’t help but talk about how incredibly beautiful she is. He just couldn’t resist sharing his love for her with the world.
