Older cat finds happiness in assisting little kittens who don’t have anyone else to care for them.

Some people believe cats don’t have feelings and only care about themselves. But here’s a sweet story to show that’s not true.

Cats, whether they’re boys or girls, can feel deeply and care about others.

Meet Runt, a tabby cat who was homeless until a kind woman gave him a home and a new start in life.

Emily Blythe discovered Runt in really bad shape. He was very skinny, his fur was messy, and he had wounds on his ears and face, plus a breathing problem.

Seeing how much Runt needed help, Emily quickly took him to the Lake County Animal Shelter in Tavares, Florida, so he could get the care he needed right away.

For the first time ever, Runt had a home, food, and someone to care for him.

When he got to the Florida shelter, the vets checked him and gave him medicine he needed.

After a few weeks of being looked after at the clinic, Runt was well enough to go live with a foster family.

Emily kindly let Runt come live with her and her other older cats. She happily said:

“He fit in perfectly with my group of older cats. It’s like he changed overnight.”

Every day, Runt was getting better until he became a new cat. He was happy, not in pain, and his great personality started to show more and more.

When Emily saw how happy Runt was with his new cat buddies, she knew he had found his permanent home. Being an older cat, this was the best place for him to spend his senior years. Emily said:

“Runt has FIV, but he’s still lively. The vet thinks he’s about 14. He’s really relaxed.”

Runt, a smart and loving cat, returned Emily’s kindness by helping new foster kittens and teaching them about life.

It all started when Emily brought home two foster kittens. Right away, Runt was drawn to them, taking care of them like he was their dad. Emily remembered a special moment, saying:

“I brought home a tiny kitten who was really sick. I didn’t think she’d survive, but Runt started looking after her and cleaning her like a mom. And she made it through.”

One of the kittens was called Dolly. She was found in a truck’s engine and taken to the shelter. Dolly had no family, so she was paired with another rescued kitten named Reece, who was found in a shed.

These two kittens grew up well together; Dolly was shy until she met Reece. But when they met Runt, they finally had someone to keep them safe. Runt became their protector and took care of them.

Dolly, who used to be shy, became more relaxed because of Runt’s gentle care. She started seeking his love, enjoying cuddles and belly rubs from him. Emily said:

“Now, she goes to him for love. He became like a dad to the foster kittens we’ve had.”

Even though Runt had never had a home before, he was still a loving cat. He showed affection to everyone around him, especially the new foster kittens who needed it.

It seemed like Runt wanted to share the love he got with these kittens, spending his senior years helping them. Isn’t he wonderful?

Emily also has other cute and loving cats who have had tough times – Petunia, Pixie, and Sassy.

Runt loves being with them, and if you want to see more of this sweet furry family, you can check out their Instagram profile.

In the cat world, all cats have feelings, but not all of them would do what Runt has done, especially male cats.

Runt is truly special and deserves all the good things in life, especially after struggling for so many years.
