The TV show “Taxi” was really popular and well-liked during the 1970s. It had a great group of actors, including famous people like Danny DeVito, Tony Danza, Carol Kane, and Christopher Lloyd.
Not long ago, some of the actors from the TV show “Taxi” got together for a special event. It’s been 40 years since the show’s last episode aired. Check out what they look like now!
The TV show “Taxi” was on ABC for five seasons, from 1978 to 1982. It was really popular with both critics and viewers, and it won a lot of awards. It got 18 Emmy Awards, including three for Best Comedy Series.
Yesterday, four of the main actors from “Taxi” got together again, forty years after the show ended. There are pictures of Tony Danza, Christopher Lloyd, Judd Hirsch, and Carol Kane having drinks together and remembering old times.
Tony Danza and Christopher Lloyd both shared the reunion photo on social media. Tony Danza tweeted, “Love these people so much!” Christopher Lloyd, on Instagram, jokingly asked, “What the heck is happening here? #taxi.”
Apart from the recent get-together, Tony Danza also posted another photo on Twitter. This one showed a bigger reunion of the cast. The picture was taken at the premiere of the Broadway show “Honeymoon in Vegas” in 2015, where Tony Danza was one of the main actors.
It’s really nice to see these old friends from the show “Taxi” getting together again. It reminds us of the amazing careers that started because of that show. Christopher Lloyd, who is 84 years old now, won two Emmy Awards for playing the iconic character The Reverend Jim “Iggy” Ignatowski.
Nowadays, Christopher Lloyd is best known for playing Doc Brown in the “Back to the Future” movies. He’s also been in other famous movies like “Who Framed Roger Rabbit,” “Clue,” and “The Addams Family.”
Carol Kane became famous for her role as Simka Gravas and won two Emmy Awards. Recently, she was one of the main actors in the Netflix show “The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.” She’s been in a lot of movies too, like “Annie Hall,” “Scrooged,” “The Princess Bride,” and “Hester Street,” which got her nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress. Carol Kane is now 70 years old.
Tony Danza, who is 72 years old, is well-liked for playing the friendly but not too smart Tony Banta on “Taxi.” After “Taxi” ended, he kept entertaining people on the TV show “Who’s the Boss?”
Judd Hirsch, who played Alex Rieger on “Taxi,” is now 88 years old and still working in showbiz. Last year, he got nominated for an Academy Award for his part in Steven Spielberg’s movie “The Fabelmans.” He’s been in a lot of other famous movies too, like “Ordinary People,” “Independence Day,” and “A Beautiful Mind.” Judd Hirsch won two Emmy Awards for his acting on “Taxi.”
At the recent reunion, Danny DeVito wasn’t there. He’s famous for playing Louie De Palma in “Taxi.” DeVito is 78 years old now and has had a successful career in Hollywood. He’s currently in the show “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” His former on-screen partner, Rhea Perlman, who had a recurring role on “Taxi,” also wasn’t there. They’re not together anymore.
Marilu Henner, who played Elaine on “Taxi,” wasn’t there either. After her time on the show, she acted in many movies and TV shows. Sadly, two important members of the “Taxi” cast have died. Andy Kaufman, who played Latka Gravas, passed away in 1984.
Jeff Conaway, who played Bobby Wheeler, died in 2011 when he was 60 years old because of pneumonia and sepsis. He was also famous for playing Kenickie in “Grease” and struggled with drug addiction for a long time.
Even though “Taxi” ended forty years ago, people still love watching it. It’s a classic show and is still popular on TV reruns. You can also watch all the seasons on Paramount Plus.
