Being loved and cared for by our parents when we’re born is what makes a family to us. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as expected for Alba when she was born.
Sadly, Alba’s mother abandoned her. After that, twenty more families tried to take care of her, but they all ended up rejecting her. However, things started to get better for her after that.
Luca Trapanese faced many challenges trying to adopt a young girl in Italy because he is gay. People weren’t sure if a gay man could adopt children, but they made an exception for him. Despite their differences, Luca and the girl, who has Down syndrome, formed a strong bond that everyone could see.
Before Luca adopted her when she was just 13 days old in 2017, 20 families had already said no to taking care of her because of her health. But Luca found great joy and fulfillment in being her father. He took his role as a father very seriously.
It took him a while to become a dad, even though he had experience working in places for people with special needs. It all started when his close friend died of cancer at just 14 years old. This made him want to help people even more. He works with a Catholic charity to do this.
When he got the chance to adopt a little girl, he decided to fully commit. He was ready to be her dad, even though he doesn’t have a partner or live with anyone else.
Alba, the little girl, is sometimes very determined and strong-willed. She loves singing, dancing, and being around people.
The new dad said he was scared the first time he held a newborn, but he felt it was right for them to be together.
He shares updates about their life with his hundreds of thousands of followers on Instagram. They enjoy spending time together and have become even closer after going through a pandemic.
We wish them a long and happy life together.
